Course Overview

​This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

Classroom based training:

Classroom attendance – “Face to Face” – training with industry qualified trainers. This is of great assistance for those who wish to build up confidence, learn from trainers experienced in the industry and brush up their studying skills.

Practical workplace

Practical workplace training through a Vocational Placement is the focus of our course program. This practical approach to learning will prepare our students to ease into 120 hours of on the job training required to gain the qualification.

Our Training Organisation will support students to organise the vocational placement – work experience with an accredited care provider. It can be an aged care facility, health care, disability or community-based service provider.

Vocational placement is structured workplace learning, a training plan is developed to support your requirements of tasks to complete during your placement. These tasks support you to prepare for the workforce. Vocational Placement is an important part of the program that has been designed for students to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom to a practical level in a workplace environment.

Self-paced/ Tutorial & Online learning :

Students are required to spend at least 425 hrs. of self-study from related books, referenced literature, websites etc., which will be recommended to students.

The Cert III in Individual Support (CHC33015) is included 13 units where seven units are core units, and 6 are elective units. Cert III in Individual Support (CHC33015) is Australia’s nationally recognised and accredited qualification will equip you with clinical skill and knowledge which is your doorway for the career in Nursing.
